Remington 11-87 Sportsman

I noticed a Remington 11-87 Sportsman at Dick's for $600 with two mail-in rebates for $50 each - comes out to $500.

Is that a good deal for this shotgun?

Will the Remington 11-87 double as a good home defense weapon (with a shorter barrel)?

Picked up my first shotgun today. I've shot the 870 plenty of times but this is the first auto loader. Going to clean it and see how it shoots pretty soon...

HERE is a good disassemble vid on youtube which helped me on my first tear down. Pretty easy to break down and clean. This is for the 1100 and I think the only difference on the 11-87 is the piston ring and seal part numbers.

Yup, good deal. Now just get a 18" barrel and extended mag tube.
