I'd say about 20%. But that is just an unscientific opinion. It helps some. I like my 930, it has been a very solid hunting gun for me. Some of us can't afford those fancy scatter guns like ole money bags Sixto. : )

Thanks Timmy. I'm in the same boat as you as far as the whole "no money for fancy shotguns" thing goes. I'll probably go handle one while I'm home, and then it will probably leave the store with me, unless SIXTO or someone else come up with a solid argument not to.

I really cant come up with a good reason not too. I still havent shot one, but from what I've seen so far, it looks like a solid gun. I'd have to agree with Timmy's guessamation, 20% is a pretty fair guess on any gas operated semi auto.
The Mossberg's guts seem to be pretty close to the 1187, it should cycle high and low brass without a problem.

And yeah, I have some nice shotguns... but my current favorite is the CZ 720. It has the second smallest price tag in my collection too!

I was just out shooting clay with it today, and I like it even more.

Well, I'll go handle one again while home, and probably end up buying it if its at a decent price. (Out of curiosity, did you notice the price your shop has them for?

I should get more sporting shotguns I suppose, since I really only have my one o/u, but I tend to be more on the "tactical" side of things these days.

Anyways, heres another question for ya sixto, I guess the closest competitors in the tactical auto shotgun area would be a Remington 1100, Benelli Supernova or M4/1014. Although it would appear I'm getting more stuff for my money with the Mossy. Got any input on those models? I know how much you love your Remington shotguns...

Well, I say this without ever have shot one, but I think dollar for dollar, the Mossberg is a better buy here. I dont like the 1100 for tactical use (it has the wrong gas system, the 1187 has the right one) but it does make a fantastic sporting gun.
The Benelli M4 is nice, but it is far overpriced. I never cared much for the Nova line.

The M4 is nice (although I'm not a huge fan of the buttstock on it), but its way out of my price point anyways. The Nova's I've always though looked kinda goofy, but Benelli is a big name in shotguns, so its worth a look. Good info about the Remingtons, thanks.

Well, I've got about two weeks to talk myself out of it or try to come up with something better, but this shotty has had my attention for at least since I saw one back after deployment.

If I get one and you haven't gotten to shoot one yet, maybe I'll let ya try it out.

How does it compare to adding a Knoxx stock?

Love my SPX. I've put about 200 through it (various shotshells) with narry a glitch.

How we behave as gun owners is important. Posturing and threatening does not serve us well in the public eye.

Well, I lasted under 72 hours in Ohio before I went and bought one, found a pretty decent deal on it too. It is the model with the normal buttstock, as pistol grips and Mossberg safeties don't go too well together. Now to find time to go shoot it, so I can give a range report. I'll get some pics of it up later.
