Yeah, you get to shoot at the fancy police range, I have to use the civilian/public ones. But I'll give a full report, along with some pics. So far I'm really liking the way it carries and feels and all though.

Are you in Columbus this time around? If so, I assume your getting this at Vances?

Your thread revived my intense interest in this particular Mossy. I already have a 590, and now I want an auto, so the SPX fits the bill.

Ill have to put this in wifeys ear for Christmas.

I was in Cbus for the Halloween festivities, but actually got this from a gunshop down around Cincy. I found a good deal here, at least as good as the last one I saw in a Vances flier (no sale on them this month), so I got it. Range report should be following in the next day or two, along with pics.

Ok, just got back from the local indoor range I despise, but it was convenient at least. Put 125 rounds through the 930, in the span of about 20 minutes. 15 of them were Remington 2 3/4" 00 buck, which spread to 5-6 inches in the 7-10 yard range. The rest of the shells were an eclectic mix of target loads I had around the house. Mostly Federal #7 and Remington, all 2 3/4". Some shells like the buckshot had high brass, and some of the target loads were low brass.

I did not have a single malfunction of any kind with the 930. Not during rapid fire, not when I just threw a mix of shells into the tube, it performed beautifully. I think it is going to fill my HD shotty role, but I need to find a side saddle and put a light on it. The controls are easy, the safety being the same as it is on pretty much all their shotguns. I did figure out why it said repeatedly in the owners manual to keep your fingers out of the way of the charging handle after you press the bolt release.

But overall I am very impressed with this shotgun. I was only shooting between 7 and 15 yards, which covers pretty much anything inside a house, so I wasn't too concerned with the sights, I'll have to take it out sometime and zero it at about 50 yards with slugs. But at 7 yards it just naturally seemed to like blasting the COM area out of my targets.

Anyone looking for a good HD semi-auto, I highly reccomend this one.

You're welcome JD. Semi-auto shotguns are an area I have very little experience in, but I can't find any flaws with this one really. As far as the recoil goes, its still a 12 gauge shotgun (read, 125 rounds left some bruising on my shoulder), but I don't think it is nearly as bad as say my 12 gauge Stoeger Coachgun, or even my pump actions, definitely a decrease there, especially with the target loads.

Maybe if I run into SIXTO and let him shoot it he can find some faults with it. But it was cycling fast, even with a hundred rounds through it.

Well, I've looked at the actual gun you bought, I even had it apart (dont tell anyone) and I can't find any faults. I liked it. If you didnt buy it, I made up my mind that I would. I would like to shoot it though.

You took it apart? Well, that explains the doughnut glaze I found inside it. I'm free most afternoons for the next week or so, lemme know if ya wanna go blast some rounds through it. Thanks for checking it out for me, I'm sure your shop can get you a new one in if ya ask them too.
