Well, I took a look at the SKS today...eh. Pretty well used up. I'm sure it would function, but again, doesn't do much more than my Mini 14 can do already.
They had a Sub 2000 in .40 in stock. If it had been 9mm for Glock 19 mags, I would have bought it. Folds into a really small package. Trigger felt decent. If I can find one for G19 mags, I will get one. Should be fun to shoot at the pistol range, and has interesting possibilities in a SHTF scenario for discrete carry of a long gun. Darn thing could fit in a laptop bag... ![]()

I have a Chinese SKS as a SHTF suburban carbine. It will also work well as a deer rifle. If you haven't seen a Chinese SKS, let me say that the metalwork is excellent but the woodwork is below average.
But it's great fun to shoot. And, true, the bayonet is, shall we say, intense.

Both are good guns. Why choose? Get both!

I've got a chinese sks, and that thing is intense. I love it to death and have the tapco telescoping stock. I just got the tapco detachable 20rd mags, and they work flawlessly in my sks. I vote for it as well.

Spoke to the folks at Bud's Gun Shop...they claim there are no Sub 2000's being made right now...Kel Tec is moving their factory.
Hope this isn't the case! ![]()

Another big big fan of the SKS here. Dont get me wrong, I think the sub2000 has its place, as do the high point carbines. That said though if the SHTF my sks would be my go to guy. That and my 45
