Take a look at this picture

See anything odd about the quad rail on this soldiers AR/M4? Does it look like it is mis-aligned or something? Is this because of the grenade launcher?

Also, can anyone, anyone at all tell me the manufacturer and model of the optical sight on these fellows rifles? They appear to be the same as the one on the M4 that Will Smith had on his M4 in the movie "I Am Legend" and I am interested in looking at them for mine. Probably too expensive for me but I'd still like to know.

The optic is a Trijicon, RCO or ACOG, depends on who you work for what it is called really. Its a great sight and combat multiplier once you know how to use it, but its also expensive, at over a grand a pop.

I don't know why his quad rail is all messed up like that, as I have seen plenty of M4's with 203's, and none of them looked like that.

Not sure about the quad rail....... why it would be tilted like that...... would REALLY make it NON-functional...... you could not mount anything on it.....MHO

The site is indeed an AGOC. I have one on my Bushmaster. VERY nice scope w/ ranging out to 600 yards based on the .223 trajectory, but as stated the bottem end one is about $800-900, fiber optic is about $1100-1200.

The rail is off. Looks like it popped out of the delta ring. This is odd, because I remember the upper portion of the rail being bolted in place (of course we had M-16A4s and not M4s). This of course could probably be fixed with a quick smack to the top rail.

Draw a line from the muzzle to the ejection port; the side rail should be parallel.

Perhaps the picture was taken at the same instant that the rifle vibrated the hardest do to the recoil.

Bingo. I like how the picture caught the action in motion.

Daddy Warcrimes is right. It looks like that rail popped off the delta ring. It isn't canted, but only twisted vertically. (If that makes sense to anyone else....) And several other posters are also right, that's an ACOG.

It looks like the barrel is a heavier contour as well, or maybe I'm just not used to seeing a true 14 inch M4.
