Hey guys I am looking for some input on this if you can help.

I am looking for a speedloader to fit my S&W K frame 357. Currently the guns stock rubber grips & the CT grips get in the way to use the one I have effectively. I am looking for a speedloader (not speedstrip) to fit the set up I have, any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Gun safe vs. regular safe?

My buddy just bought a biometric gun safe from Gunvault.com (http://www.gunvault.com). I was considering getting one of these safes too, but I started wondering what the difference was between a "gun" safe and a regular safe? You can spend a ton of money on a gun safe, but why wouldn't I buy a regular fire safe from Amazon or Walmart that is significantly less, still has a keypad and backup key lock, and holds 2-3 times as much?

Thanks for your feedback on the differences between a safe classified as a gun safe, and a standard safe.

Kydex flashlight carrier

I have been looking for a vertical kydex pouch for my SureFire 6P. There are many on the market, such Comp-Tac, Blade-Tech, etc, which all look solid. However, none of them had all the attributes I wanted.
What I was looking for was something very trim in profile, and no more material than necessary used to do its job. I also wanted kydex. Now I am a huge fan of leather, and use it almost exclusively for my guns, but for mag pouches and accessories, I like the simplicity and speed that kydex offers. Also, I was looking for a belt clip attachment.
I liked the simple clip loop that Comp-Tac offers, but I didn't care for tension screws to the side, which adds to it's width and takes up more real estate on my belt. The same goes for many other kydex flashlight pouches. Some others, such as the one offered by SureFire, seems too bulky in that the belt tunnel loops is very thick, and it also is pretty long vertically, as it is made to fit belts of various widths. I just wanted something similar to what many fine leather holster makers offer, except in kydex, with a clip on belt loop. I feel that tension screws are not necessary on a flashlight carrier. Just make it fit so that it can be drawn very quickly, yet is just snug enough not to allow the light to fall out on its own. It's just a flashlight after all. Shouldn't be too hard to do right?

After much searching, I got a hold of Richard Schaefer of Custom Carry Concepts (Home Page (http://customcarryconcepts.com/)). After telling him what I would like, he made this, which I received today...

Finish and overall quality is excellent. The fit is spot on too. The light almost "clicks" when you insert it in, yet it is super fast to draw from.

I don't have any firsthand experience with Rich's gun holsters, but thus far, his accessory products seem like a real winner, especially for the money.

Recommend a new EDC AA Light for me

I am in need of a new EDC flashlight. Currently, I carry a Fenix L1T V2.0 powered by a 3.6V 14500 AA-sized battery. This is a great light, but I want something that I can use with a "Rogers" style hold.

Image: http://www.nrapublications.org/si/images/HB_9.jpg Image: http://pistol-training.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/hlle-2.jpg

I've found this to be the most secure way of holding a pistol and a light simultaneously, and it lets me keep almost a full two-handed grip on my gun.

This requires a grip-ring near the middle of the light, which unfortunately the L1T does not have. The TK12 does have this ring, but it does not take AA's, and I'm not looking to EDC a 2xCR123-sized light. I have a double CR123 light hanging by my bed, and compared to the L1T it's a brick. I also don't want to have to revamp my battery stash, BoB, truck kit, etc away from AA's.

Image: http://www.fenixtactical.com/images/fenix/fenix-tk12-003-1.jpg

So here are my requirements for a light:

Must run off of 1x AA battery
Must have a grip-ring like the TK12
Must have a bright high-quality LED
Must have either a belt-clip or available holster for EDC
Must be compact and unobtrusive
Would be nice if it could handle the 3.7V 14500 batteries for a little extra juice, but it's not necessary.

So, is there anything out there that fills these requirements? Or should I start cleaning out my BoB now to make room for the CR123's?

What is your opinion on the spitfire sprays. I am looking at getting something for my wife and 2 step daughters as well as my self to carry. I want something that is easy to carry in a pocket or purse and has a cheap practice spray. Like the looks of the spitfire but have never touched one in person.

I currently have a Rhino Metals 39 gun safe bolted to the floor in my garage, but after reading a few things about rusting guns I’m getting scared! I have a golden rod in there now and I check it often to make sure it’s hot. My garage is attached to the house, but it still gets pretty cold in the winter time and hot in the summer. It’s a newer house, so the garage is sealed pretty well………anyone have problems with rust in a situation like mine? I’d like to move it into the house, but the lady doesn’t want it in the bedroom and I’m not too excited about moving 1000+lbs of metal….

I added this slightly extended mag release to both my G19 and G26. I've carried my G26 so equipped for a few weeks now, and no issue with the mag coming loose in the holster.

Fired my G26 today, and the extended release does make mag changes faster. I still find I need to twist the grip just a bit to engage the release, but not as much as the stock release button.

Overall, a worthy upgrade. It's more expensive than some others, but no worries about it being too long and accidentally dumping the mag.
