How do you lubricate your carry gun?

I had always just lubricated with my normal old CLP. Reading sigforum, I noticed a few people talking about using grease. I decided to look into this a little, and I've decided to make the switch. I have a MilComm TW25B syringe and a few 4oz tubes sitting in my helmet bag. We use it to lube our machine guns. Turns out, it's also what works best for normal pistols.

I was reading on a few sites like cylinder & slide that oil will run out of the gun into the holster when carrying, and they also suggested grease. So how do y'all do it?

Don't you have to do some crazy heat treatment thing when you use militec? A small bottle of it came with my 229, and I remember it said something about that. I never did end up using it.

Weapon Shield. They sent me a free sample which turned out to be a full sized tube with syringe.

I use WeaponShield on my carry guns but, fairly recently I checked out GunZilla and that is great also.

For extended shooting sessions I use Jardines Extreme on my semi-automatic Slide/Frame rails.
Probably not necessary with the WeaponShield but, (force of habit) I do it anyway.
