Possible Problem After Cleaning LCP

So I just disassembled, cleaned and lubed my new LCP. It looked like they had dropped it in a barrel of 10-W40 when they shipped it. I guess thats in case it sits a while.

Anyways, after re-assembling my pistol when I racked the slide to chamber a round, it wouldn't chamber. It got hung and was holding the slide open. It was still being held by the magazine. I had to slide it all the way back into the magazine with a pen and start over. Finally it started working. Did I do something wrong during cleaning/re-assembly? Or did it just need to work its way out? Am just a little concerned if its that easy to get jammed.

Is it possible you didnt let go of the slide when it reached maximum reward travel? In other words you may have "rode the slide foward" without letting it go. This will cause what you have described as happening.

go to one of the kel tec sites to learn how to clean, lub, f&b etc.... your lcp. kel tec has been there, done that, got the t-shirt when it has come to this gun.
