Thanks for the advice people. It is mostly what I thought it would be, but I've been to too many "training" seminars that were really just "watch this video and read this manual on your own" types. I wanted to make sure before I bothered.

Thanks again.

Devils Advocate Here.

If you are just wanting to learn to detail strip a GLOCK handgun for the purpose of general maintenance and occasional complete cleaning it is not a difficult firearm to fully take apart and get back together again.

You should be able to do it just by paying attention to what you are doing and watching the youtube vids a couple of times...aka search youtube for Glock Disassembly.

The first YouTube Vid in combo with the second that pops up when you search for Glock Disassembly should be all that you need to accomplish the task.

It's not really rocket science or very difficult but, if by any small chance you are unable to get it back together again then simply "shoebox" the parts and haul it off to your local gunsmith and watch him when he pops it back together again for you.

Once you see somebody do it then (for sure) you'll be able to do it on your own after that.

OK Flame On & Turn Me Over I'm Done On This Side!

I took it when it was still 80 but it is def initely worth it...lots of little tidbits you wouldnt get elsewhere. Plus it allows you to order parts factory direct.

I almost took the course earlier this summer (was held at our local PD) but work got in the way. Next time it's offered close by, I'm burning a few vacation days.

I would definitely go.

As soon as I get settled at my new location I will be looking for the course.

I thought about the course as well. There is one offered in Charlottesville next week. But $150 is a lot of money right now.

You can buy the Glock punch tool for less than $20. I paid another $20 for a video Complete Glock Disassembly / Assembly. The video was not worth it, but the tool was.

It replaced the stock trigger springs with NY1 triggers in both my Glocks. The first one took me about 1.5 hours (stupid video). The 2nd replacement took just 10 minutes watching a video on YouTube. Big thanks to Ramrod as well for posting a diagram of how the trigger sits in the housing.

So, basically, with this one tool, I can do most everything I'll ever need to do except sights.
