Article: Lubrication 101
I found this article by Grant Cunningham on lubricating your firearm, very interesting read. Thought you all would enjoy it.

If anybody can find the Lubriplate, even if only in 35# buckets, maybe they could break it down and sell 1# containers to members as long as it's not too cost prohibitive with S&H

last time i cleaned and lubed my handgun,i used my own recipe..seems to work just as good as all the expensive gun lubes out there..you can also use different variations of this formula.
(1) part dexron ATF fluid (1) part STP oil treatment (2) parts Mobil 1,full synthetic |

I've been going with straight up Mobil1 for a while now, but I might try that recipe of yours, crue.

ATF, I would have never guessed.
LubriPlate should be found at most restaurant supply/equipment stores.

Mr. Cunningham's article mentioned NLGI #0 as being ideal. If you go to the Lubriplate web site, they are selling No.105 Motor Assembly Grease NGLI #0, in 10 oz. tubes for 17.60.
