Number count on posts.

I posted on Jan. 3, the number was 21. I just posted again and the number is still 21. What's up?

I may need to re-index the post count. When that happens, the count can go up or down for a number of reasons. For whatever reason, a thread my become orphaned. Orphans are normally deleted through a cleanup script built into the software. If someone starts a thread and then deletes their original post, after getting replies, it will also sometimes mess up the count.

I normally don't delete posts very often. A couple of reasons I might, in some cases delete one is if you replied (with a quote from their original post) to a troll's post that is subsequently banned. Off topic posting may get a post moved or deleted (see sticky post in "on topic" forums). I did in the last week or so delete some of the earlier posts that I made during the elections. I think my post count went down by about 40-50, but doubt if anyone else's did because people normally didn't reply to posts here in our "early days", lol. If you did happen to reply to one of those old ones, you may have lost one there.

How's that for a long winded explanation that boils down to "I don't know"?
