Forum donations question

It was my understanding that when I donated I was agreeing to renew automatically via Paypal annually.
Two questions:
I looked at the 'Forum Donations' section and see no indication that this will happen, the small type indicates that any amount marked with a red asterisk is an automatic renewal amount, none of them are marked. Did this change or is it broken?
Also, if I am set up for automatic renewal then is it possible to change the amount?

I know it's a while away but I was just messing with stuff and thought I may have found a glitch, I'm guessing it will get resolved in the move when everything gets installed again.

First of all...on behalf of CombatCarry - Thanks for your donation.
BUT, no...nobody is required or expected to renew their initial donation but, it would be nice and appreciated to help cover monthly expenses incurred by Bumper.

I'll send this thread of your to the attention of Bumper and he can check things out for you.

I wonder where I got that from, I do seem to remember that when I donated it was mentioned.
Anyway, if it doesn't exist it would be a good option, even better with a choice of frequency (quarterly, 6 mths, yearly)
If it isn't I'll just do it myself.

Thanks.

I have never set "recurring Payments" up here. I think it can be done but would need to check into it further. I'll try to get you answer later this evening when my wife lets my honey-do's for the day are done.

Validity periods marked * indicate that purchasing this subscription is recurring, this means after the period is complete it will automatically be renewed.
This is the information on the 'Forums Donation' link as it appears to me, it may or may not be different for others, I'm running OSX and don't believe I have any problems with cache.

I would be willing to have a 'direct debit' as it were, that was my initial point, not sure if that was clear. When I originally donated I was under the assumption it was an ongoing thing.
Now I'm just Confused, Nashville... as usual.

You may be referring to a thread that I started and a few people agreed with. I setup with my bank to make a monthly donation. Somewhere I started a thread and suggested it would be a good idea to setup a recurring donation because it means that Bumper doesn't have to come back in a year and say that it's time to pay the bills and I don't have any money. I'm sure that PayPal's donation setup always provides for recurring donations even if the organization did not specifically request that option.

Thanks for your willingness to program your donations. For me I can give more if I do it monthly than I could in a one time deal. Besides since my bank takes it out early in the month and I get paid monthly what I don't see I don't miss.

I'd been meaning to ask the same question about the recurring donation and just hadn't gotten around to it, thanks .02.

IMO, i don't think that message once a year is a bad thing... or a greedy handout kinda thing. i personally feel it's an appreciation like kick in the butt which brings us all together in keeping this big old CC machine running. a bunch of us need that kind of reminder to say "oh yeah!". this is however, my opinion.

The verbage that's on the donation page is sort of stock, hence the reference to recurring payments. I just never set them up. I can configure a recurring donation, but not real sure what to specify as an amount. I'll add a number of recurring payments to choose from now. Let me know if you want a specific/recurring term specified and I will set it up....

I agree with downrange as far as the verbiage of the original series that prompted us to donate. My concern is that I can't remember yesterday, let alone when a year's gone by--and they keep going by faster and faster. A reminder sure wouldn't offend me in any way, shape or form. I receive far more from this forum than I give, and I sure don't mind kicking in when it's necessary.
