Mine goes batty for about 45 seconds...I just walk away for a minute or two...then it works just fine...

I just figured it was Bush's fault...isn't everything else?

Stay armed...stay safe!

Mine has done that for quite sometime. Despite searches through the technical support forum I have been unable to find an answer. As Chris suggested, I am thinking there's a corrupt smilie somewhere but theres so many it's tough to find. The only way I can figure to find it is to remove all of the smilies and put them back in a few at a time to try to isolate it. The only reason I haven't done that if the name has changed since originally installing them, we may have broken smilies all over the forum.

I will see if I can work on this problem some this weekend. Don't be surprised if late tomorrow night all of them disappear for a bit.... :wink

Bumper, Really it's not that big of an issue, I hate tedious error checking like that, there's no need to go through all of them, at least not all at once. I don't think it rates to be on a task list, but more of a pet project, then again you have a lot of those too IIRC.

Actually, John, I only have a couple of items left on my task list now so thought I would try to resolve that one. It always has been a pet peeve of mine, but I have, for so long, not used the [More] on smilies that it goes off my radar until someone brings it back up. It needs to be fixed once and for all, I'm thinking.....

Bumper - one thought - if you zipped up all those smiles and email that to me, I can go thru them one by one and see if I can spot any wierd aspects.

Can't be sure that would help but - might save you some time.

If I can't figure it out this go around, Chris, I might just do that. I am going through them right now and have deleted about 20 that might have caused a problem. Two of them were non-existant or corrupt to the point that they wouldn't display. I have not seen those two in the past so maybe I can get this resolved yet....

Am I just stupid or do others have this issue?
I have the same issue when useing aol(IE) . It gets so bad that I have to shut down to recover. Guess I'll have to try FireFox.

AOL

When the page starts to spazz then just hit
Ctrl Alt Delete and then X off the page.

That will save you a Shut Down.

I did find two other forums where they were experiencing the same problem, but the support staff didn't have a clue. One of the people reporting appeared to have gottent theirs fixed, but didn't know what he did to fix it.

I worked on it a couple of hours last night with out success, deleting about 80-90 smilies in the process. I may dump out that table completely and just reload them one category at a time and see what happens. Don't be surprised if sometime over the weekend you find that we have lost all of our smilies for awhile.....
