Maintenance - 11/28

I have been doing some routine maintenance today which will almost always result in some slowdowns to the forum. I will also be rebuilding our indexes tonight which will require the forum to be closed to accomplish. I am currently planning on closing the forum at about 10:00pm (Mountain) tonight. We should be down for about 4-5 hours although now that we have over 550,000 posts, it may take a bit longer.

All of the "all nighters" can get some sleep tonight....

Well, I encountered a problem during routine maintenance that will probably make it necessary to delay the downtime until Mark makes a small change to a server configuration. The good news is that this change will probably result in a small performance improvement. Not that we have experienced and performance problems, but I always like to find things to improve.

If he emails me back soon that the change has been made, I will perform the maintenance tonight, otherwise it will probably be a day or so before I try again.

I check up over there several times a day anyway.
