My username is linked to wrong profile

When I post, my avatar does not show. The reason is that my user name (hd1. -with a period) is linked to the profile of hd1 - no period.

My profile is hd1. (period) , location Michigan, occupation retired. With avatar of S&W 642 and Kahr MK9.

hd1's (no period) profile is location Florida, occupation Harley employee. No avatar.

This problem has just recently arose. Can this be fixed, or do I need to re-register under a different username?

hd1. - let me check this out ............

Well - subject to Bumper having extra thoughts - it seems to me that perhaps the software does not ''see'' the period. Your avatar shows as yours in your details in the control panel.

My easiest fix for you is to change your username slightly .... and see if that settles things. I haven't checked that similar username but am assuming for now it came along after your join date.

PM me if you would with what you'd find a suitable alternative - maybe hd-1 perhaps?

Your profile exists...

But that's not the one that clicking your name links to. Weird, but I'm sure Chris will sort you out.

As Chris said, you will probably have to choose another username to clear this one up. Names with special characters have, in the past, caused some problems for both the member and the scripts. If it still doesn't fix the problem, there's a maintenance script I can run to correct similar errors.
