Dry-fire a USP
Hello all,
I just bought an H&K USP .45. I have two questions: It is my understanding that dry-firing a USP can quickly damage the firing pin. Is this true? I use A-Zoom Snap Caps when dry-firing my XD .45. How can you tell when the snap caps are worn out? Any thoughts or comments on snap caps and dry-firing a USP or an XD would be welcome. Thanks. |

Usp's had problems breaking the firing pins years ago during dryfire but i always use a snap cap..
How long have you had the caps and how much dry fire its hard to tell if there worn out but if its a lot then replace them there cheep |

I have been told that No you cannot hurt your HK USP .45 during dry fire practice, and have done so with mine quite a few times. But I also like to use snap caps to practice malfuction and clearance drills too.

Same here, dry fire a USP .45 full sized all the time. But, most of those times I use snap caps. They are worth the investment :).

Never had a problem and I had to dry-fire mine probably a couple thousand times to break in the trigger a bit.
