Lifes too short to shoot an ugly gun.

...or so says a good friend of mine who carries this Springfield Armory 1911...as his duty weapon. And while I do carry and shoot "ugly guns" I thought some of you 1911 junkies would appreciate this beautiful carry piece.

EDIT to add this shot of the top :

Post your pics of your prettiest carry pistol, because life really is too short to not at least look at some pretty guns.

It is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. How much was it? If you don't mind the personal question

Im not real sure..he would never tell me exactly. Every time someone asks, he just says "enough to make you appreciate it".

I cant believe that he carries this daily, as his duty weapon.

That's REAL nice!

I wouldn't carry it, either...but it would probably get just as much wear from me fondling it, anyway...

I particulary like the scales of justice on the rear of the slide, and of course the Texas outline and lone stars.

I'll carry ugly pistols, thankx. Can you imagine an engraving job on my P3AT?

I have enormous appreciation of aesthetics and the work on that gun is absolutely staggering - but to carry? No way - I go back to function and basic form, ''sans bling'' !

The basket weave on slide top is amazing.

No pretty guns for me. Mine are tools, nothing more.

Thumbs up

Wow, I'm not even a huge 1911 fan, and that thing is beautiful! Im going to need a cigarette after that experience!! That is a FINE engraving job to say the least. Im curious how much that gun is now worth. I have looked at guns for sale with engraving ALL OVER like this one (Not quite as appealing to me as this one you have shown is, i love the basketweave and the stars, the justice scales are very appropriate for the gun as well.)
Being an everyday carry.. for me personally- - I dont know about that. I think i would value that gun way too much to carry it on a daily basis. However, Kudos to the owner, he owns a very nice looking peice of machinery!

Thanks for sharing!!

--added -I carry an ugly gun that I dont mind getting "dirty".
