Our church was robbed late the other night.

Took place early in the wee hours of the morning when no one was there. They broke into almost every office except the one my wife is shareing until her's is ready. (I'd check those three women out if I were LE, sounds suspicous to me.) My wife is director of the pre-school. They did some damage but no vandalism or major theft. Only got about $180 in cash which seemed to be what they were looking for.

The son of one of my wife's teachers has been working late at night by himself painting and things in a new addition. Since LE thinks they were just after money to buy drugs I would hate to think what might have happened had he been there alone when they broke in. Drug addicts desperate for money for more drugs have killed as we all know. Our church is a sheep zone so this guy was not carrying of course.

Things can go bad no matter where you are.

I'm really surprised that there isn't more of that going on. It seems like churches would be pretty easy targets. I'm under the impression that few have security systems, etc.

Despite not being a religious guy - I am enraged when churches are defiled. They should be sacrosanct.

We have had one or two cases in my area of vandalism - and that yanks my chain big time. We cannot really assume these days that anywhere at all is safe from attack in some way or another.

How low do you have to be to rob a church?

I Carry 24/7...

and that includes church. I'm sure that my wife doesn't understand a gun in church, but she doesn't say a word...she let's me 'play my game'...her thoughts, I'm sure!
I don't even think about it anymore...my weapon is a PART of me now. In FL it is not a problem. When we were in MI last summer, I believe that you are supposed to have the church's permission...I don't remember if I carried anyway...

...Mmmmmm, can't remember!
Concealed means ...concealed!

Stay alert...while praying too...stay safe!

Hehe me and my wife both carry at church, she was at a service once where some drugged out gothic looking goon just walked up to the podium and stood there during the sermon, this was in Wi. before we got married, right then she stopped questioning why I carry at service. Eventually the ushers escorted the "tweaker" out of the building.

Even in Wi. the church we go to wishes that the Governor would just pass the darn CCW bill. It's been knocked down twice.

Just for technical correct terminology-your chrurch was burglarized. Break into/steal with nobody there = burglary.
Point gun, use knife, weapon, or physical force = robbery.
I only mention this because when you call the police and say "I've been robbed..."you will get an entirely different set of questions than saying you have been burglarized. That's why I jumped a foot when I saw your thread title. At any rate, sorry it happened. I've seen churches burglarlized and lose LOTS of money in sound equipment, musical instruments, etc. Burglarizing a church...(shudder)...hate to explain THAT little error to the gatekeeper on judgement day.

It has only been a few months ago that someone broke in to our church late on a Saturday night. They then kicked in the office door, fired up the secretary's computer and logged onto the web where they proceeded to surf porn sites for over seven 7hours, according to our ISP. That means that they were still in the office when our elderly pastor popped in at 6am to crank up the air conditioning. Fortunately he did not go to the office, and surprise the goon/s. I am just thankful that nobody got hurt, and only a few office supplies came up missing. We have taken to securing the building a bit better since then.

On another occasion, when I first started carrying I was there working through the night on a remodeling project. In the middle of the night, while I am outside, grabbing something out of my vehicle a guy I have never seen before shows up and starts asking a lot of pointless questions. I made sure to keep a vehicle between us. Nothing came of it, but I sure was glad to have the means to defend myself if it came to that. Thankfully it didn't, but it reaffirmed my decision to carry right then and there.

As for robbing a church, they will never profit from it.. Malachi 3:8-9

There were two churches hit that night, ours was the second one. The police said that there have been a lot of church breakins over the past several months, you just never hear about them from the media it seems.
