Yeah +1 on everything said...

Saving Private Ryan, Miami Vice (ending gunfight.... blew me away), Heat, etc.

My own picks: Where Eagles Dare, Iron Cross

I love both those movies for their feel of authenticity and grittiness. Especially WED. Man! I may only be 25 but I LOVE old flicks like that.

If Hollyweird stuck to the exact truth we would probably all be bored with the results. For example have you ever watched the new show Dallas SWAT? To be honest with you, nothing much happens. I have yet to see them shoot a gun, let alone a BG. I don't watch it all the time so I may have missed it if it happened but real life in general is pretty boreing. IMHO they seem to call these SWAT guys out for some pretty routine take downs these days. I saw one where a truck load of officers waited in a parking lot for the BG to walk out and they all jumped him. Hours of planning for what two foot patrol men could have done if you ask me.

We go to the movies to escape reality and be entertained. Definition of entertainment varies with each of us. I like lots of things being blown up and guns fireing. That's just me.

So to conclude I don't think we want things too realistic or boredom will set in.

While inaccuracies reguarding firearms annoys me I also try to take movies at face value. How can I expect a movie that is about the war between Vampires and Werewolves (Underworld) to be correct with the guns they use. The main examlpe is when she puts 30ish rounds through here Berettas and then uses them to shoot a hole through the floor.

Although these movies are incorrect I still find them entertaining. And I love the movies that do it right though. Heat, Ronin, Saving Private Ryan, Blackhawk Down, Tears of the Sun, and some others.

That is exactly how I feel about movies.

For those that like 1911's I gotta go with "Last Man Standing" With Bruce Willis.
