Scope Question

I just ordered a new .25-06 rifle today. Anyways, during the process I ordered a scope that's a "rimfire" scope. Leupold 2-7x 39mm Rimfire is the model name. Will this not work on my rifle? I hesitate to change my order because it will cost 25 bucks, but if it won't function, then I'll have to.

Any advice would rock.

No go on the rimfire scope - they are lightly built, and that's fine on a rimfire rifle because of the low recoil impulse.

A centerfire rifle's recoil will destroy a rimfire scope in short order.

Thanks for the quick answer Matt. I called them up and they changed it out for 10 bucks instead of 25. I guess sympathy for people that don't read enough still exists!

Never heard of a Leupold with a 39mm objective.

The problem with the rimfire line of most manufacturers scopes are that most have no AO and the parallex is set very close. Sometimes as close as 50yds.

Anyway..... glad that you changed. A .25-'06 needs a good longe range(w/ AO) scope. IMO a 3x9 at the smallest. ---------

The 39mm was a typo. This is what I ordered on accident because I wasn't paying enough attention.

This is what I ended up with.

I'm really pretty clueless as far as scopes go. Only just started to research. I had read good things about them from Graybeard and a couple other sites, so I figured it was a pretty inexpensive place to start.
