Money is the major limiting factor for most of us.
I'm greedy though, I want one (or two) of everything..... If I had to narrow it down to just one........(man, this is hard)...I would want a little item I saw on a show on the History Channel about bulletproofing, it was a remote controlled M2 mounted inside the back of an armored pickup. The top on the bed of the truck had a retractable roof that when opened, revealed the .50BMG. The weapon is controlled from the cab by joy-stick & has infared & color imaging for the firer to see with. http://www.lascointl.com/vehicles/07gridiron.htm

As a "fun gun"?
On Okinawa my partner and I picked up a grease gun on an incident, we kept it at the unit and took it to our demo range to "dispose" of turned in .45 ACP. (We traded some stuff to the Special Forces unit for some mags, they were the only unit on the island that had any.) That thing was tons of fun...... Wish I still had it to play with.

Years ago I passed on a beautiful original Mint Condition Police Inventory Tommy Gun in deep blue complete with a custom carry case and with magazines for the asking price $500.00 + $200.00 Transfer Tax BECAUSE I thought the Tommy Gun was way too heavy and impractical of a firearm since it only shot a lowly .45acp handgun round...plus I didn't want to pay that steep $200.00 Transfer Tax Fee.
Was that dumb...or what? But, who knew what it would be worth today. I was only in my 20s and just never guessed what one would be worth these days. |

My CCW instructor had a "Tommygun" that he let me put a couple of mags of ammo through. It was my first time shooting a full auto. It had just rained and their was standing water on the range. It was pretty cool watching those slugs hit the water. I was quite supprised to see how easy it was to control. He also has a full auto glock of some kind that I put 1 mag through. It was not so easy to control. Didn't know 17 rounds could dissappear so fast!

I never liked the SAW. I don't think I ever saw(no pun intended) one in the field for very long that it didn't malfunction in some way or another. JMO from personal observations.
If I could have any ones I wanted, I would pick the M60, and my all time favorite for causing hate and discontent amongst the enemy, the Mark 19 belt fed 40mm grenade launcher. I think the mark 19 would be useful as a riot control weapon in a lot of cases.

This thread looks like the military fantasy thread for the SAWs, M60s, M2HBs and a MK19! Heck I really REALLY MISS my M1A1 Abrams. I'm sure tanksoldier does too. How 'bout posting some gun porn to go along with those fantasies?
Here....tankers will love this: Gilligan's Island...TANKER STYLE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de8vL1QMQLg Hey sgtD: When I was active (1980-84) my M60's were vietnam era and they were always screwing up. When I transitioned to Armor in the reserves, I used the SAW in the cupola and coax mode and NEVER saw them fail. But they were still pretty new then. Me....I have a list that's acquirable with a bit of saving. Each one is a possibility. Even a probability, with a little bit of God's will on a script I'm about to sell to CBS. If that goes, I'm probably going to treat myself to the new Sig 556, with an ACOG and a hushpuppy complete with all the BATF paperwork. But here's a question for the peanut gallery: Do I need subsonic 223 for the Gem-Tech "can" or will normal ammo work and be sufficiently suppressed so that ear muffs aren't needed? I've fired MP5s and UZIs suppressed and never needed ear protection. Standard ammo, too. My agent says we're in the top three for consideration and he has no idea how many they want to buy. So I'm literally waiting for that phone call. On the waaaaay out of reach scale is the Barrett M82 and the Steyr Scout .308 and maybe (if I could find one domestically) a PSG-1.

Yep - you shoulda bought it!! Ain't it a kicker looking back on a missed deal. Many folks have mentioned guns they want or lust for - which is fine but was thinking mainly of guns you have tried out and would like because you tried them. sgtD - fortunately the SAW I tried ran 100% but yeah - I have heard less than good about their long term reliability.
