Many lost deals

I can think of some really good guns I let get away. HK p7, Colt Ace, the HK-91 my ex took to a pawnshop. I miss the most a .22 silencer we owned at the gunshop where I used to work. I like the silencer more than a full-auto. Cheaper for one. Also great fun to shoot. I'm saving up for one now.

In the sixties I found a 25-35 octogon barrel, near mint condition for $300. That was a lot of money then, when I could buy a good 30-30 for about $75. I passed, it would be worth about $4,000 now.
The rifle I did buy that day was a limited adition 30WCF(30-30) with fancy scroll work on stock, I paid that $75. I ended up giving the 30Wcf to my brother who traded it for a leaky aluminum boat.
Two major screwups. Wish I had them both.

Ex slodier: I was in from '88-94 and you might be onto something as far as the age of the guns. I don't know how new our 60s were, but the only malfunction I ever saw in one was a runaway. But, I am pretty sure that our SAWs were hand me downs and they were really beat up. I think becuase we were a trak unit we got the worn out stuff after the infantrymen had their fun with 'em.

P95, like I said, it was just my opinion based on my experience. My Brother in law was in marine infantry after I was out. He was in Somolia clearin the way for 10th mountain. Anyway, he loved the SAW and used it a lot more than I did, I just never liked it as much as the 60.

I had a couple of runaway 60's when I was a young PLT LDR running qual ranges. First one scared me near to death, until my 1SG strolled up and twisted the belt vertical. Stopped it dead. That's what I did thereafter. A good 1SG is golden for any 2LT IF he cares to listen! I always did. Always.

Haha, reminded me of a good joke. What's the difference between a private and a 2nd LT?

The private knows he's not in charge!

The LT's that never listened were a nightmare.

I own most of the firearms that I lusted for as a younger man. M1 Garand, M1 carbine, several 1911s, S&W K22, 32, & 38, Winchester M 94 & M9422, Snubby .38 & on & on.
BUT! I have always wanted an Auto Arms, M1929, "Tommy gun" Okay, I'd settle for the semi-auto version of today, but - - - - - that gun always fascinated me. I just cannot justify the price against the usability. Oh Oh I certainly should win the Florida Lottery and then that "Tommy gun" will be MINE!

I thought it was this
Q: What's the difference between a FIRST Lieutenant and a pfc?
A: A pfc has been promoted TWICE!

Never heard that one. Our PFC's were E-2's anyway, so it wouldn't work.

When I was active all the EM's started out as a "slick sleeve" then they got the first chevron we all called mosquito wings. That's the first promotion, that's a regular pvt (E2). Then they get the rocker chevron and it's the second promotion for the pfc (E3). Next stop was Spec/4. Is it still that way in the army? Anybody here know?

Last year when I was out for my sisters wedding and I just had to get out of the house. So my brother, one of the bridesmades dates and I headed out to the range just to get out of the way. So we rented some fun weapons. MP5 and an M60. I'd love to have both.

Needless to say it was a fun day at the range.
