I think it's still that way. Although at the command I was at, it seemed like Army people picked up Spec/4 so fast it didn't matter anyway. There were a lot of 3-4 year Staff Sgts. Which is ridiculous. I was a jarhead, so we went Pvt, PFC, Lance CPL.
