The self-deluded "invitation" has always been there. Nuts will do what they do.

In an open society, it's not possible to fully guard against someone's murderous actions. What is absolutely possible, though, is to defend against them. Law enforcement agencies will gather the intel and do what they can. Neighbors and average citizens need to wake up and contribute to the degree they can. And folks that choose to acknowledge their own responsibility over their own security will arm and train themselves.

In the end, despite all preparations and precautions, it comes down to one thing: willingness to survive. Until each and every citizen asks and answers the question "what are you prepared to do?" there will be some that will be grist for the mill. Even then, some cannot be saved.

This rat was just an amateur. Can you imagine what a pro could do in one of these "Gun Free Zones?"

True, the words they're using are along the lines of "deadliest shooting spree", and the likes.

Regards to the media showing the video's of this lunatic had me discussing this with my wife. While I think that showing the videos over and over and over again is gratuitous and not necessary, I did point out that there is a benifit to showing the video of a nut like that.

Namely, is that I am sure that there are at least a few people out there who saw the rantings and wild eyed look of that character and said... "I know someone just like that but never thought they could do something like that... At least now I can keep a close eye on the person I know like that and be prepared."

If seeing that video educates one person, or makes them recognize similar demeanor in an individual they know, maybe it will save their life.

Other than that, most of the media plastered that video for ratings purposes.

My Lai?

Wait a min. That was war. S#*t happens in war. IMO, that is disrespectful to the men that were there. I had a very dear friend that was in that mess. Orders were given. Orders were carried out. Having comments based on the media reports from back then and stating them as facts is wrong. You need to read and understand both sides of My Lai.
