Would somebady please help me out in this retarded moment. Can a 4 Magnum (S&W 629) shoot 44 Special rounds?

There is really no reason I am asking other than to know.

Thanks

To add to Scott's affirmative - again yes ........ the situation is same as .38 spl's in a .357 mag.

Main thing is to remember that the shorter spl case will permit over time with use, a carbon ring to build up in the cylinder chambers.

let that get too much and chambering the longer mag cases can get difficult. So - good cleaning is important if using a lot of the shorter cases.

If you look at a Smith X frame .460 - that in fact can handle .45LC, .454 and the big .460 - again carbon ring build up can be important to consider with use of the lower power rounds with shorter cases.

I would think that the 44 magnum, being much bigger than the 4Magnum could not.

Yeah I thought I caught that typo, one of these day I will get the soda out of the keyboard of my laptop.

Thanks for the help all, I was wondering if it was the same as 38/357

Although I don't shoot 44 special I choose to load low to medium velocity magnum cases and enjoy plinking.
