one or two eyes open with pistol?

do you shoot your pistol with one or two eyes open and why.
also, any tips for shooting with both eyes open?
i cant seem to at all. im either focused on the sights with both eyes open and looking at two targets not know which to point at, or looking at the target not seeing sights at all. cant flicker back and forth really.
any suggestions?

You practice shooting so that if the day arises that you must defend yourself or your loved ones, you have the ability to do so.

You might as well practice with both eyes open, because to use one eye in a gunfight would to be seriously handicapping yourself and about the same as keeping one arm behind your back while in a fight.

In a real world situation with adrenalin flowing and the instant realization that one of you may not be breathing in a few seconds, both of your eyes are going to be so WIDE open that it will be nearly impossible for you to close one eye...even if you wanted to.

So you may as well train with both eyes open.

Its as simple as taking both of your hands and putting them together and using both index fingers pointing to something on a wall.

Try it.
Now try it with your gun.

It takes a bit of practice but its not hard.

and make DANG sure the gun is unloaded before you point it at anything.

Ill just suggest that if you are having issues with keeping both open , and singleing out " THAT FRONT SIGHT " then possibly you are cross dominant . Ie right handed and left eyed . if you google cross dominant and shoot , i am shure you will get more info than you want .

You have 2 eyes for a reason-you can see more with both open especially important when "tunnel vision" kicks in. You can also gauge distance better with 2 eyes open.

Two eyes open, not only as mentioned about both eyes will be open in a gun fight but we need to see everything going on around us. It just doesn't make sense to close any eye during a fight.
