Update

She will be operate on tomorrow to remove the projectile that the Docs now think is in fact a .22 bullet. It shifted position and moved closer to the liver instead of away from it as they had predicted.

So, surgery tomorrow.
The family of the kid who shot her is paying for all medical expenses, (they had to get a lawyer to threaten them with serious legal action) and the kid may in fact be charged with several offenses if the projectile does turn out to be a .22 bullet.

I will update again when I have more.

Sig...

Thanks for the update... Seriously interested in how this plays out.

Thoughts and prayers are with the little girl and her family!

I wonder if it would be possible for a bunch of us to send cards and letters to the girl and her parents.
Especially if some of you have kids, the little girl might be helped by other kids sending her cards.

Would this be possible? After all the road to getting better starts with ones spirit.

Sig,

Amen that the prayers to the Lord be answered in your daughter's favor.

On the other note, I was wondering whether there is a gradation of offenses based on caliber? What the hey! A projectile is a projectile! If the perpetrating kid's intent was to kill -- albeit a bird -- if a human is hit with his projectile, the potential of grave harm is not removed. The parents need to be held responsible to learn a lesson. Why haven't the authorities brought charges? Why does it fall to you to have to bear the burden of bringing in a lawyer (even though you definitely should and did)?

Success!

Well, the operation was a success. They removed the .22 bullet, and it was a .22 bullet, and they patched her up. She is in the hospital tonight and probably tomorrow night. But, she is doing very well.

Her prognosis is very positive. She should make a complete and total recovery with no lingering problems.

We are all very happy and very relieved to hear this news. She is a sweet little girl and it seems she will be fine once she heals up.

As I said, the kids family is paying the medical bills.
I'm not sure what else can be done legally. They are exploring those options with their lawyer.

Thanks for all the prayers guys. Any more that you want to offer would be much appreciated.
You guys are the best.

Great news! Praise the Lord for the healing, the doctors, the nurses, the forum members!

So much for the pellet-gun theory. I guess the police will now be more interested in pursuing charges (?).
