I vote 3rd gen PT145 Milpro with rail. I love mine, never had a problem with it except it doesn't like blazer ammo. It's easy to conceal, and I like the SA/DA trigger, I personally can't stand glock triggers. You can get a NIB one for around $300.

I kind of like the PT-145 offering from Taurus myself. I have no down-range experience with it, but it felt good. I would like to put some rounds out of one though.

Perhaps even look around for a used 1911 in good shape?

BTW, thanks for mentioning the eyes there. I would never have noticed if someone hadn't said anything, but now that is all I can see.
Gee,...Thanks.

Well, the cheapest .45 I've bought, isn't a .45 anymore.

But it did start out that way. The EAA Witness can be had for typically, under $400.00, brand new. The other .45 I bought recently, that cost a little over $500.00 was used.

I have a 3rd gen PT145PRO that has been 100% since first shot. It is a great CCW .45. I also have a XD45Tac that has been 100% as well. Both are fine weapons. I even CCW the XD on occasion, especially when I go into Chocolate City. There are many choices in a .45 carry gun, try to hold and shoot as many as possible.

Even though I own a Glock and trust it completely, I don't shoot it as well as most other handguns I own, and therefore, it stays in the safe most of the time.

Most current production handguns will serve the purpose of protecting you and yours, so whichever one suits you best, buy it.

A BG won't know if the .45 slug that hit him came from a $2500.00 Ed Brown 1911 or a $150.00 Hi-Point.

Well I spent the money but I didn't get a compact .45.

I went with the XD Tactical .45, I have a greater need for a .45 range gun than another carry gun right now so I went with that.

I just checked and it fits in all my XD9 holsters, I just need half a dozen mags and I'm set.

I like XDs.

Ha ha.
There is.

Range time by my definition involves target practice including steel targets, not just drills with carry weapons. Also it includes training classes.

My Glock 34 will not be upset to be accompanied by the new Tactical XD .45, they will make a great team.

Plus my wife was with me and steered me towards the final decision by saying she wanted to buy me a carry .45 later this year.

I hope YM(doesn't)V...

Just for future reference and negotiations with my Minister of Finance, what other gun needs are there? As of right now I have only covered the "need" for home defense (Rem870) and the need for family defense (XDsc for CC).

I have room to negotiate, right?
