If you want a good laugh, read the most recent American Rifleman's review of a repo lever action shotgun. After saying the trigger was lousy and the lever action either jammed or ejected empties into your forehead, they stated it was a good buy!

Generally speaking, most writers and editors know who provides their bread & butter. No writer is going to diss or speak ill of a Glock (for example) on page 5 when Glock has paid for a full-page ad on page 23.

Call me a cynic.

Word-of-mouth and personal expieriences from DC is reliable.

I read one reviewer that said that if the gun was crap he would not review it. So he did not write a negative review on any crappy guns. A friend of mine showed me a publication that the reviewers bought the guns themselves and if it was a crappy gun they told you it was a crappy gun.

Combat Handguns for the past couple of months have had on the cover the "perfect .45". Different guns, of course. Guess you can have more than one perfect!
