Glock 'em down
I already GOT my dream gun! A 2nd generation Glock 23! This is the best pistol I have ever owned! But...my love for the Glock 23 goes beyond that. When my first daughter was born (1991) a strange chain of events unfurled...FIRST, It was the 23rd of the month and I was working two jobs (like always), and my 1st time pregnant wife was so big she was about to pop! I got home from work, took of all my crap, sat down on the couch and was almost asleep when she says..."Oh GOD! My water just broke!" The time was 11:23pm - 23:23 hrs according to Zulu time! We grab "the bag" run out the door, rush to the car, I do 165mph from the driveway to the front door, we make it to the hospital in 23 minutes, we're doing the whole pushing thing, the kid is born at 4:23pm, I was 23 years old at the time, the Chicago Bulls had just won their first NBA Championship, led by Michael JORDAN (that's what we named her) who wore number 23 on his jersey and last but not least, I was carrying - you guessed it - A Glock 23!

Isn't that cool?

That is cool!

I have one a little like it:
My mothers fiance was killed in Vietnam on his birthday, and I was born on that day 14 years later!

Strange how some things work out, isn't it?

I have a Glock 23 as well. Mines the 3rd generation though. I got to have that tactical rail for lights!

I hate these threads!

I've already seen several people fall into the trap of answer the question, "What ONE gun..." by giving a list of several.

I'll try not to do that.

I've always wanted the following:
- SOCOM II .308 Win. (thanks for reminding me, whoever posted that pic) or a SOCOM 16 (said to be lighter and better balanced)
- a nice 1911 in .45 ACP, but one that's not too fancy
- a Freedom Arms revolver in .454 Casull
- a Steyr AUG
- an HK PSG-1
- a Steyr Scout .308 Win.

I guess that from a practical sense, whittling it down to which ONE gun, to fill the gap of a gun I would love to have but probably would not end up buying for myself (mostly because I'm not rich), I'd take the SOCOM II. It'd sure be a treat to have such a serious rifle.

Dude, that is WAY cool!

You, um, forgot to mention that last year, they came out with a MOVIE called "The Number 23," which is about weird coincidences involving that number. Jim Carrey starred in it. (I have not seen it, but I just watched an online trailer at the movie's website, and it looks intriguing.)

That sort of rounds out the crazy number of coincidences you have with the number 23, huh?

For what it's worth, my brother's only daughter was born on the same day and date as I was, but 33 years later. (September 18, Saturday)

Yeah, I've heard about that movie and I need to watch it. Another crazy thing - my 2nd daughter was born 7 years and 2 months later - also on the 23rd!
