why would he feel guilty? he only invented what is probably the most widely used weapon in history...good on him.

This reminded me of the Winchester Mansion where his wife contiuned to build on to the house because of fear of ghosts of people shot by Winchesters. It is worth seeing. Actually it is irrational for the inventor of anything to feel remorse for how it is used. Take rope for instance. What about drugs that help others and are addictable? Think positive and enjoy the income. True, Kalishnikov was a genius. Why was he a communist, I thought genius and communist had to be an oxymoron.

We really don't know if he's a marxist, the way he responded in the article blaming the politicians, I'm not sure he is.

The thing is if he would have been a Westerner with royalties and as wide spread his design has been he would be one of the wealthiest men in the world. A fact that probably wouldn't have escaped his thinking.

The sooner people figure that out, the sooner they'll be free to stop defending murderers and blaming the innocent (or the inanimate).
What does that have to do with Communism? They don't share your beliefs.

I saw a TV show where he met with Stoner. He made a comment about the difference in our systems. Something to the effect that Stoner flew to the meeting in his own plane, and he could barely afford to buy a plane ticket to get there.

As far as the media's way of thinking, everyone is a victim to them, so we should all feel guilt throughout our lives. I think the fascination with guilt may have come from Nobel. The left wingers always fawn over winners of the Nobel "Peace" Prize, which was started as a result of Nobel feeling guilty for his invention killing so many people. The left loves victims and people who feel guilty for being successful at whatever they do.

It's a Marxist type ideology that causes it. The basic underlying assumption is: If you are successful, you have obviously taken advantage of the less fortunate to get where you are, therefore you should feel guilty about it.

Balderdash!

Mr. K. is absolutely right.

Is anyone gonna pretend that wars and killing would not have occurred, if only he had just not invented that rifle? Puh-lease. Only a moron would offer that argument.

I can't quite see the point of anyone asking him questions about that, or of the media reporting it, except that the media likes to pretend that the guns cause the carnage, instead of the people.

His design probally saved more lives. I remember as a little kid seeing Soviet soldiers marching through the streets with AK's on TV. It was scary, that sight alone probally made several countries think twice about starting a war with the USSR. Just like nuclear weapons, while many have died, they have been a sucessful deterent for a long time. As with both," Weapons hold no prejudice, or regret just the intent of the man on the button".

The sheep have to blame something or someone else. The AK jumped off the ground and into the Terrorist hands forcing him to push off the safety, point the weapon, and pull the trigger killing the innocent victims. He must have been spanked when he was a child. Ban the gun and coddle the poor man that was forced to pull that trigger.

What a mindset!
