Colt mustang-ambi safety?

Anyone know if the standard 1911 safety fits a mustang? Or if not, does someone make a ambi safety for the mustang? I am considering a Mustang ,LH shooter, so I need a ambi safety.

Geez, rocky, I'm not sure, but I don't believe it does. I would start with Cylinder & Slide, I know they used to do work on the Mustangs. Maybe Ron Power, and there's another "Name" I think I'm forgetting... maybe someone else can provide it?

Yeah....cylinder & slide could tell you if you can't locate it in the Brownells catalog.

No the standard 1911 safety will not work on the mustang ect.. A good smith should be able to whip up an ambi side safety for one ( dont know about cost as it would be a few hours on the milling machine ) that would work like the standard ambi retrofit safetys for the 1911 tho .

I've seen one, I don't recall where. I'm pretty sure I book marked the site I saw it at. Stand by...

As stated above Cylinder and Slide has them, thier about the only ones that do, it a non factory part, and I'm pretty sure Brownells doesn't carry them.
