Looking for a good Gun Cleaning solution

I would like to know if any of you can recommend a good gun cleaner for my ccw pistols. I bought a parts cleaner and want to know what would be good to use. It takes up to 3.5 gallons. I was going to buy Mineral spirits but was not sure if that was good for the weapons. Does anyone have any suggestions? Would appreciate any info.

Tho i do not have an ultrasonic i would suspect kerosene would work , or mix up a batch of ed's red . Recipee here

Break Free is good stuff, and is my main staple for gun cleaning and lubrication. I also use Hoppes #9 for barrel cleaning, but otherwise, just take a toothbrush, some q-tips, and some break free CLP to your firearm and you should be good to go.

ed's red will work great in a parts cleaner. but you will have to take it out after use and put in a sealed container. or you can use any auto part cleaner solulation, just blow dry and re-oil heavy after cleaning. i use hoppes #9, cheap wal mart brake cleaner, break free and/or mil-spec oil, and mil-spec grease

Mineral spirits will work fine. I keep a 5 gal. bucket beside my work bench and use it all of the time to clean really grimey shotguns, rifles and pistols that come in for repair. It will break carbon away in a heartbeat, which is really good if you've got some buildup. As for metal fouling, nothing beats Sweets 7.62 for copper.

If you use mineral spirits, remove anything from the gun that has varnish on it. Though the spirits won't remove the varnish, it can make it soft.

On blued guns with a little surface rust, mineral spirits and 0000 steel wool works wonders.

My next purchase is an ultrasonic cleaner. But at a couple grand, it's hard to justify.

i just started using M-Pro 7 and i love it. IMPO I dont see the need for a parts cleaner (basin) for a personal collection. If you run a shop...ok

Mineral spirits for the parts washer if you really need it.

Make sure to thoroughly dry and lubricate after cleaning as the mineral spirits will remove all the corrosion protection as well as the grime.
