Rossi M59: How do I break this thing down?
This gun has been in my family for a while now. My grandad left it for me in his will. Well I have shot it a couple of times and its an awesome gun, but occasionally it fails to hit the rim hard enough to make it go "boom". MY guess is that this is due to lack of care over the years and it probably just needs a good cleaning.
However, I can't find ANY diagram online that tells me how to completely break this gun down. I am really close to just "wingin" it and hopefully I can put it back together in working order. Do you guys know where I can find such information? edit: Doh, I just realized that this may be in the wrong forum. Mods, feel free to move it. |

If what I'm thinking of is a pump action .22 rifle.....
Unscrew the big screw at the rear of the receiver, then pull gently and pivot the receiver to the side and it will separate into two halves. Don't go any further than that for routine cleaning. |

Similar models. Exploded diagram. Should be able to pull the assembly screw/pin and get to innards with some Gun Scrubber, compressed air, and then lube it well. |
