Sounds like SA would farm out any engineering that they may need (read India). Welcome to the new "Made in USA".

I was thinking pretty much the same thing. SA may not actually employ an engineering dept, but they may have a contract with a local eng firm to do their work for them as they need it done.

Advice
I am also an engineer, but got my education a long time ago. I have noticed that the gun industry is really not very large in the US, compared to other industries that employ a lot of scientists and engineers. Additionally, the technology of guns doesn't move ahead that rapidly compared to other industries. So unless you are determined to work on guns, you might find better employment possibilities in such industries as:
- medical devices - software - computer hardware - defense products - electronic equipment - semiconductors - energy - chemicals And you probably have to get out of Michigan, whose economy is stagnating a bit because of dependence upon the automobile industry. |

Nothing could be further from the truth. I used to work at Sikorsky Aircraft. They have HUNDREDS (maybe thousands) of engineers as do other aerospace companies... Sikorsky was/is heavily recruiting and giving nice bonuses to engineers. Too bad it's a crappy place to work, however...

Go to Grad School!!! The advanced degree (Masters and higher) you get will get you lot more job oppty's and $$$ in the future: or if you can a position w/ a company that will pay for you to get a Masters part time while in their employ (think Motorola) thats even better. All the Best!!
