Need info on Pre WWII Colt .25

A friend has a Pre World War II Colt .25. The markings on the gun indicate Model# 1908, and he said there were words on the gun perhaps, "vestgun." It was purchased sometime between the early 1920s and early 1930s.

My friend is looking for more info on what he actually has? Value? And he needs cleaning and possibly take down instructions.

Right now there are failure to feed problems which he thinks will go away with a good cleaning and a new magazine--which he found somewhere on the web.

Any comments? Thanks.

Does it look like this one?

Sometimes called a "Baby Browning".

If so it's a huge PITA to take down. Not impossible but just a pain.

This is pretty much the same firearm so the disassembly is about the same:

Rotating the barrel is the hard part, wish there was a slide stop.

Looks like it's listing for $300 on Gunbroker.
