Clean X2, then lube?

Hi all!

Just wondering if anybody cleans their Glock (or maybe another firearm) and dries it completely, then puts it together and lets it sit for perhaps a day and then cleans off any fouling that may have broken loose, AND THEN lubes all the key spots.

Thanks in advance.

If it is just sitting there, why would any fouling fall off? Clean it better, lube it up right and put back together.

I recommend you switch to a better solvent and adopt more thorough cleaning methods. JD and Lima turned me onto Hoppes Elite, and I've not looked back. If you were to clean your gun with your existing chemicals 'til the patch is clean, then clean it again with this stuff, you'll come out with crud on the patch that you didn't even know was there.

You have a Glock- use Simple Green and be done with it.

Disassemble completely, spray on a 50/50 solution of Simple Green and water, scrub with a toothbrush (bore brush for the barrel), rinse with hot water, blow dry, reassemble and lubricate.
