Decisions ,decisions...
Updating a previous post I made about .45 choices. I have decided to go with an XD-45 compact for my polymer choice. The feature that sold me is you can get two guns for the price of one with a simple magazine change. Now I have to decide on whether to go with a SIG 220 or a 1911 pistol for my second choice? Any thoughts on this quandary( albeit a good quandary)? Looking forward to your input. Just wanted to do this before we get
by some stupid new gun law(s). |

Can't go wrong with either of those IMO, but my current choice is a P220.

No problem
On your choice between a Sig P220 and a 1911, just stare at these photos from Ken Lunde for awhile, and I'm sure your decision will come to you:

You'd love a 1911...get thee to a gun store and handle 'em all...

You know, I really, really wanted to love my 220 SAO as much as my 1911s. But I just couldn't do it. When you're talking single stack all metal .45s, there is no substitute for a 1911.
My Sig 220 was nice, but it just wasn't nice enough. If your happy with the XD, why not just add an older cousin from Springfield?

Gosh... truth be told, I'm a 1911 guy. When I had to give up carrying a 1911, I chose the 220. I think its the next best thing to a 1911. There are a lot of really nice 1911's out there, and a lot of not so nice ones too. Every 220 is nice, no matter the trim you choose.
The other problem you will have is if you get a really good 1911, your XD will get sold, I'm betting. If you get a 220, your XD will get the boot too. So, its a toss up.

+1 on the 1911! 1911's are an addiction and they tend to breed.
