i broke my hammer spring two years ago. it broke at the top. called kel tec and they mailed me a new hammer spring (275), hammer spring catch (279), and hammer pin spring (274). call them and tell them what parts you need. they will mailed them and it is not hard to put them in. don't know why it broke, just did.

I think you can depend on them to treat you right.
Sorry to here they traded your Sexy and light 1st Gen, for a heavy ugly 2nd Gen. But, sounds like the took great care of you.

Also, it's Hilarious to see people jumping on the Ruger bandwagon w/out anyone even handling one... let alone shooting one.

Sounds like somebody should start selling a set of aftermarket Stainless steel replacement springs for the little guy.

Same thing happened to my PF-9, out of the box after 50-rds. Bad springs will usually go fast. Shoot the crap out of the new until you think it's good before carrying. At least 1-200 rds I would think. Took KT 2-WEEKS to get me the hammer assembly to replace, after 2 phone calls. Must have ignored the first.

Yesterday I dropped by our local gun store, and while I was there in came the city police armor. He asked if the new Ruger LCP where in.

Reason:

He had given the little P3AT their department’s normal test, to see if he could approve it for backup/undercover/off duty use.

The departments test is 1000 normal ball ammo, and field accuracy.

At around 400 rounds the firing pin broke. So he mailed it back to Kel-Tec and sure enough a couple weeks later it returned ready to go. He took it back to the range, and stated the test all over again. This time, the main spring broke at 100 rounds.

He says his department needs small carry gun and it was unfortunate the little P3AT won’t be it. I’m interested to find out if the new LPC handles the 1000 round test.

Yep, customer service is good and all, but free parts don't do any good when you need the gun NOW!!

I've called them for parts (spare screws and such) and got them quickly and at no charge. They have been great for me.
