I'm well supplied with weapons. Now I'm working on case lots of ammo. Actually, I've paid close attention to the gun-owning Sheep and just may have to commandeer their stashes...
Food & water I have plenty. I'm having trouble rotating stock the way it is. Why did I buy so much tuna when it was on sale. Used to love it... |

bobcatp, I'd be interested in knowing that, too. While I love my Mauser, 8mm surplus has all but dried up and I have to hit the reloading bench if I want any more at a decent price. Smoke Wagon still has some of the rimmed ammo at a good price (Bulgarian surplus), but I'm not sure as to quality. So far our Mosins have eaten everything we've given them, and the shooters of our family aren't the greatest riflemen and don't have the chronographs to know any more than the stuff shoots when we want it to. And emits fireballs. (If you've never shot a Mosin Nagant at night, I highly recommend the experience.)

I worry about the govt. seizing some of or even all of our toys.
What are we going to do when that day comes? While I do own one of the so called evil rifles, I also just got an M1 Garand. I am at least hoping that will be viewed as a 64 year old war relic that poses no threat to tyranny.

I really dont worry about that much Doc... after all, who is going to come get them? I think they will but a squeeze on us by other means, such as forcing ammo supplies dry.

Sixto, I think Doc has the right idea. It's not so much stockpiling as it will be caching that 's important. Who'll come to get them? Remember Katrina. Door to door SWAT assault on law abiding citizens. An Executive Order can wipe out the recent legislation in several states to protect from a gov't grab with one signature.
I'm more interested in how to successfully cache "in plain sight" to avoid the grab. Ground penetrating radar is typically used to find buried caches, so those of us in urban or suburban homes without multiple acres will have less places to effectively hide our supplies of interest. I think the best place to cache your weapons will be in your home where you will be able to access it when need be without being observed. That will require "hiding in plain sight" so that the invading grabbers will not even realize its there. They will tear up your house if you do not produce "sacrificial" arms, so placing these in typical places they will look - like in a ziplock bag in the toilet tank- will satisfy them that you are stupid and they've taken possession of what they came for. Meanwhile, your stockpile is more cleverly hidden and won't be seized. I have ideas for hiding multiple long guns in plain sight, and huge piles of ammo in plain sight that won't be found. I'd be interested in hearing of other clever plain sight cache ideas, but don't think we should post these on an internet BB that can later be referred to by the gov't. If anyone knows if PM's can not be later recovered, I'd trade ideas that way. |

I am no computer expert but with todays technology, I think that ANYTHING can be recovered or monitored on the net.

It seems very probable that a new administration will introduce a new gun ban. It will be up to voices like ours to make them back down. We will win this round, but there will always be other gun bans to fight. I will keep stocking up ammo and guns. You never know what tomorrow may bring.

Will you stock up?
Are you going to stock up and buy semi-auto's this year if god forbid an anti-gunner gets into the whitehouse in November? From what I can tell now the only front runner that has a strong pro-2A stace is Huckabee. The others looks like they will push another AWB. Maybe even a permanent one
Are you concerned? Not concerned? Are you going to buy as many as you can?

Possibly a couple extra high capacity clips for the Glock, but other than that. NO
I have no need for an AK or AR15, (sold the AR15 years ago). I have a couple custom bolt action rifles that are tack drivers and enough loading supplies to last me the rest of my life. And I just cannot ever see our Government stopping the sale of 9mm to the general public. Regardless of who gets in office, that person is only 1/3 of our Government. Sure an anti-gun President and Congress will get another assault weapons band through, but it will take them at least a year to get it implemented. So anyone wanting to buy one will have plenty of time after the November count. |
