Guns and the Presidential Election: MERGED

Romney seems to be pulling ahead in the Florida polls. If he wins there we will be on the path to a presidential election in which the candidates of both parties support an "assault weapons" ban, among other things like national handgun waiting periods. I'll at least stock up on hi capacity magazines, but I am still thinking about the rifles I might want to acquire before a ban.

How about you?

Yep, at least enough to turn in a few of them and still have plenty left.

I always get nervous around Presidential elections. I'm also a little queasy about the SCOTUS (Heller) decision as well.

All we can do is hope the pro-gunners in Congress can keep bills like that from reaching the President (remember, Bush43 said he would sign the AWB if it reached his desk!).

I made a killing during the last AWB... I dont think I want to do it again. I didnt intend on doing that, it just worked out that way.
I think if they are going to do it this time around, they are going to do it a little smarter because they learned from their mistakes. This one is going to be worse, and I think you wont be able to go shoot your AR/AK without fear.
I'm more afraid of ammo supply than hardware.

Being able to feed and maintain what you have should be the first priority. After that... have fun!

If Hitler or Osama become president, I'll bet a years pay that it will happen. If one of the demoncrap's calling themselves conservative gets in, I'll bet half a years pay that it will happen.
Congress plays a bigger role anyway.
