This was discussed before but I don't see it as a big deal one way or the other. I don't see how it is going to do much good in keeping guns away from the BG's and since everything is already recorded in the bound book having my picture to go along with it isn't much more of a deal. If they want to chance breaking the camera taking my mug shot have at it. It is just PR BS trying to impress the public that they are actually doing something like their buy American campaign. A recent fact in National Geographic says that 9% of all factory output in China will wind up on the shelves of Wal-Mart.
You are video taped pretty much from the time you walk in to the time you leave to start with so it isn't much more. It is almost like saying you don't want anyone to snap your picture gambling at a casino in Las Vegas. |

They have had cameras recording this area for years to prevent employee and customer theft. Nothing new, except now they tell us another use for their recording.

Maybe someone from FL can give us the details on the law but I know that some manufacture had a statement on their website that they couldn't keep computerized records of gun owners. That makes it harder to provide status reports on repairs. I don't know if the key is computerized or records or what.

Don't know about the whole chain, but the Wal Mart stores near me have gotten out of the firearms biz. One week there were shotguns and hunting rifles, the next they were just gone. When I asked, the sporting goods folks said it hadn't been profitable enough for them. Mostly cheap stuff anyway, so I wasn't too broken hearted. Anyway, I'd prefer to buy from my local hardware store, now that he's selling guns. |

Man if I would have known that, I would have smiled and waved when I took advantage of their ammo sale the other day. (1,000 rounds of WWB .40 S&W for $268.00
)I'm not worried. Cameras are all over the place anymore, not to mention that everytime you fill out a form 4473 its kept forever. Cripes, just take a look at your everyday street intersections now a days. My town has them on probably over 60% of the intersections now.

Oh, it's no big deal.
The last time I buy a gun from Wally World, but it wasn't on my top ten list of suppliers, anyway. I like the local gun shops and pawn shops a lot better anyway. Heck, I don't buy as much other stuff from there as I used to anyway. They're cheaper on stuff- - if they have what you want. They don't always have the selection other places do. If they've got the same thing, they're usually cheaper. But they don't always have what I want. So I go a lot of other places these days anyway. One less reason to go there.

Is this legal? Looks like an invasion of privacy

I dont really care if they video tape me buying legal ammo. You might be recorded buying ammo at a gun shop too. There are security cameras everywhere...
