Question Marlin lever 30-30-good price?

I found a couple of Marlin lever action rifles in .30-.30 at my pawn shop.

30AS? (I think) for $225 in pretty decent shape.
336? w/ scope for $229, fair shape.

Which Marlin would be the better gun?
Prices good or bad?

I also like the 336,and I think the price is right around what a used 30-30 goes for,you might check auctionarms or gunbroker to compare and see if that's a good deal

I like the 336, I have one in stainless...and...that's a fair price.

Okay, so follow up question...

I have never bought from a pawn shop before.
Can you haggle? Do they expect you to,
or does it depend on the pawn shop?

I would assume it HIGHLY depends on which pawn shop. Not only that but they guy your talking to..is he the owner or just some guy that works there? I suppose I'd feel them out before haggling any ;)

Can't hurt to try though!

I just sold a Marlin 336 .30-30 in near-new shape for $330. I was surprised to get that much, as several used ones can be found for $50-100 less. Still, someone wanting a new-to-you safe queen would jump at this one. One did.

I think the prices you listed sound good, assuming the guns are in good, serviceable shape.
