Parts that are intended for use in a suppressor are considered to be a suppressor. Some very cheap home made suppressors use washers as the baffle, but commercial ones do not.

There is no reason to pay $900 for a suppressor for any gun. Any decent $300-400 suppressor will serve you just fine.

Here is a good link for very well priced suppressors. I've seen him over on Silencertalk.com. Seems legit and well liked over there. He's based out of OK, so shipping wouldn't be too much.

I spent the last 1/2 hr checking it out. Good info there. Interesting that Finland doesn't even regulate sound suppressors.

In fact, Finland's government encourages all its citizens to use sound suppressors, mainly for health reasons and noise pollution control. They are one of the few countries in the leading edge in suppressor technology. 5 million citizens with 4 million personally owned firearms. Finland doesn't regulate suppressors or machine guns.

Most foreign countries don't have much machine gun or suppressor regulations, but being able to own a firearm in the country is an accomplishment of itself. In Israel, the waiting time for a firearms ownership license is 3 years. But you can carry whatever you want wherever you want. A guy from another forum lives there and carries a M16 commando full auto into medical school with him.

Well, there is weight and coating. Polymer pistols tend to be hard on the frames with extra weight up front, so Ti or similar is worth it. On a LG, that's not much of an issue to the civilian shooter. Good ceramic coatings will increase the life of your internals, so...

Just depends on how much you plan to use it and what you have to spend.

Gomer, IIRC, NV is extremely ClassIII friendly.

For a Ti can with ceramic coated baffle(s), I wouldn't pay more than $600 for one. If I'm paying $900, it better include the transfer tax and a few hundred rounds of ammo.

I haven't heard of a civilian wearing out an aluminum alloy can on a pistol. Maybe it's like Fight Club and they don't talk about it.

I agree with you, but that is more than a $400 premium.

People with nice toys like that aren't abusers, in general, shooting FA or 1K SA through one. OTOH, I view that like my spare parts box- I want the ability and/or parts to maintain my high $$ tools well into the next generation.
