I don't really think too much about it, I go to wal-mart because things are less expensive. Most of the wal-marts out here are pretty gun friendly, some even carry reloading components(Cottonwood). The stores that I go to aren't posted, so I don't think they are too "anti". I don't usually buy ammo from them as I support my local gunstore for that and firearms.
If you want to spend more money on groceries and such, go right ahead, as for me, I'll consider this thread an

No Wal-Mart for me. My cheap ammo comes from gunshows, and my nachos come from mexican restaurants. Apologies to anyone offended by my unorthodoxy.

If WW truly wanted to alienate gun owners, wouldn't they simply just stop selling ammo and guns in all their stores? I'll continue to give WW my ammo business and plan to buy another Marlin 60 from them.

I think it boils down to convienence. Most everyone has a Wally world close to them. Like others have said if you look at enough businesses most of them are going to have some sort of anti in them. Going to your local gun shop is fine with me, if you happen to have one near by, and they have nachos and good prices on practice ammo.

I don't necessarily like Walmart, but the fact is on some staples, they are much cheaper than other places.

One other way to look at this is that by going to Walmart with your newly aquired permit and carrying, it is a direct slap in the face of the company. You are doing something that they may not agree with, but is well within your rights. Think of it as a protest if you want, or I guess you can just sit at home with your permit and wait for your local gun shop to start carrying nachos.

Our Wally world doesn't carry nachos by the way, we have a Subway, and the owner just happens to be one of my clients, so I guess in a sense I am helping out myself by going to the nearest Walmart and buying a sub.

If you do some research and find out how the meat in W.M. is packaged, the stuff with the black plastic trays and the clear plastic suspended over it is something to learn about, and the other stuff is usually packaged in different size packages to confuse the shopper. No thanks, and I prefer edible meats. I do 98 % of my other shopping elsewhere since they are anti Union also.

Like um or hate em - thats your choice. The wife and I love our Wal Mart, especially since they built a new one just down the street. Good prices are just the start - they usually have what you are looking for and we haven't had any quality problems. Ours, both of them, still sell guns and ammo at prices far below any of our gun dealers. I'll probably be getting one of the WW Ruger 10/22 stainless specials with part of my tax rebate.

I have never seen a WalMart that was posted no concealed handguns allowed on premises,so I don't believe they are anti-gun,a little misled in their thinking at times but like other people have said I don't tell you where to shop and what to buy,and I would appreciate the same.

Don't have any gun shops local to the Ft. Riley area. There are a couple guys that are small time, selling out of their homes. They want the price of the gun, plus $50 or more per gun to order, plus the transfer fees. What we do have, is pawn shops. Pawn shops that since Custer left the area, have been bending the soldiers over the sink every time one enters their store. That carries over to the civilians living in the area as well. Everyone gets screwed around the GI towns. I would rather give someone in China or Korea my money than do business with the thieves that own the pawn shops and the rip off home based businesses. It is my money that I spend. I will spend it where ever I choose. If a person does not like that, oh well. Get over it. I already have. I won't tell you what to do, don't tell me what to do.

Our local Wally world USED to have a no guns sign on the door but the new manager was in my CCW class. No more signs since he took over a few years ago.

As long as they have cheap ammo, and I need it, I'll shop there :P voting with my dollar won't make a damn bit of difference. They know this.
