- Same as I've always wanted -- to be left alone, to make my own choices and to deal with the consequences of those choices myself. Why don't I (shop elsewhere)? - Because I CHOOSE not to. I also shop other places. I'm not boycotting Wal-Mart. That doesn't mean I don't BELIEVE in boycotts. I won't buy Ben & Jerry's ice cream, and I won't pay to see any movie featuring Sean Penn or Susan Sarandon. Wal-Mart, to me, is not so obnoxious as to compel me to boycott them. Your opinion may be different. I RESPECT that, and I WILL NOT attempt to COERCE you into shopping there, or even to CONVINCE you into shopping there. All I ask is that you show me the same courtesy. As for the "tradition", I don't personally care one way or another. It makes sense to me for entirely practical reasons: - access to commonly needed supplies - public place, teeming with people preoccupied with things other than spotting a CCW'er. - an eatery, which presents the challenge of remaining aware while being YOURSELF preoccupied. I might suggest Cabela's for the same reasons, BUT: - there isn't a Cabela's within easy driving distance of everyone in the USA AND - Cabela's are at least SOMEWHAT populated by "gun guys" who are far more likely to "make" the first-time CCW'er, thus destroying the confidence that the inaugural voyage is intended to reinforce. |

My local Wally sells alcohol, tobacco, and firearms. What's not to like?

My local gun stores have signs that say you cannot enter with a concealed weapon.
