What is "registering" and why do they charge a "fee" for something you have a "right" too ???

Gee, I"m glad I live where I do.

Man, I have been against gun registration all along. Granded I am only 22, but am old enough to know this is how Hitler took over power of Germany. Everyone had their guns registered and they went door to door collecting them. I really wish I didn't have to, but was given 10 days or else!

No registration here either. I guess if it were to start, I'd find alternatives. Not to say I'd blatantly do something illegal----just I'd be finding all the loopholes the law and government usually find for themselves and balance the scales sort of. I was charged $10 for my DMV driving record the other day and almost had a tumor over that---(one page, three lines, showing no violations all in order to keep my insurance rate low). The system now compared to a few months ago, is really starting to bug me. Prices and cost of living day-to-day are going up, and the system knows this and has every intention of kicking citizens where it hurts the most---almost like they are intentionally trying to provoke something from the masses and declare a national emergency. In my twisted mind---we'll all fall into that trap soon enough and then they'll have due cause for extending control. Wait and see. Just a small rant, take it however you like it, or just change the channel.

You are not being charged to register, you are being charged to have them notorized

Your purchase permit is supposed to be free. And your instructor is correct they are working on a lot of changes to the registration laws.

No it does not. Your individaul department may charge a notary fee.

Here in Mecosta County they do not charge for purchase permits or notorizing your "safety inspection"

Here in Calhoun county they (at least use to) charge when you picked up the "Safety inspection form" AKA Green Card, purchase permit, but since I have my Mi CPL I have not had to pay the fee for their "notary services"

When Mom passed a couple of years back and I went to transfer dad's (he passed a number of years back) to me, the person at the window made a comment about how much I had saved because I had my CPL, so that makes it sound more like a fee for the card and not the Notarization.

Registration? Safety check? What is that? I'm not about to allow registration of my firearms into my state
