Nope, no registration or fees here in Texas. If you have you CHL, they don't even have to do a background check. Just fill out 4473 sign it and out the door you go.
We do pay for auto registration, and drivers license, but not for a business license, at least not where I live. Another great reason to live in Texas.

In some States sale between private citizens are not recorded, weapons give as gifts are not recorded, weapons passed on through wills are not recorded, weapons brought into the State when you move into the State are not recorded, etc.
That is there does not have to be a complete record of all the guns you own. You can own a number of guns that can't be tracked to you by just looking it up on a computer. True with some detective work (assuming all the players in the chain are still alive) LOEs can track a gun's history, once they get their hands on it. But that is far different that having to register every gun you own.

I've never been charged a fee for my safety inspections. Hopefully we can get rid of this silly inspection/registration process.
