This is a BIG problem that we will regret not stopping...further down the road. They love the 'criminal injustice system'...
Not after they are granted citizenship as the final solution to the "undocumented worker" problem.

Taking weapons "off the street" does not count for squat. What counts is taking CRIMINALS off the street.

If ballistic fingerprinting is a joke, then how can they really know that the weapon was the same for all the murders?

This is standard ballistic forensics---find the bullet, match it to a barrel, and the barrel to the gun.

The joke is in requiring new guns to be shipped with fired rounds to be contributed to a state forensics laboratory so that future crimes can supposedly be matched against a traceable gun. This is, of course, a joke because illegally purchased guns will never have these fingerprint rounds put into the system and, if they were in the system once, were used for crime after being stolen, so that the S/N trace is no longer relevant to the crime under investigation.

Probably because the street guns don't get the number of rounds down range legaly held guns do.

Even if you are shooting 100 rounds a month, that is 1,200 per year.

That is sufficient to wear new scratches and round out sharp surfaces over time.

Street guns don't get anywhere near that amount of round count. A few rounds here, a few their...

Likely not enought to change important features for matching.

Criminals know enough to manually lap the gun's barrel... that's so obvious it's not even funny... they are not that stupid.

Most? The reason they all should not fry is? Personally I do not grasp how the illegals are afforded any Constitutional protection. From my perspective any illegal entering our country and violating its laws is a invading terrorist which should to be a capitol crime no unnecessary appeals no waiting as already stated IMO the constitution applies to American Citizens. Not every filthy scum bag who invades our homeland to rape rob and pillage. Considering the attitude of many of the nations this filth comes from I am not convinced that they are not enemy combatants intentionally sent here to undermine the fabric of our nation. Without a doubt that is what Castro did when he emptied his prisons onto our shores

I don't care what ANYONE says, the gun is innocent. It didn't kill anyone.
