Yea they may go to prison pretty quickly, but they're out in 18 months, 'rehabilitated'.

If you carry, stop the threat. You are not done until you kick the weapon out of their reach, check for additional threats, and find the area clear.

As far as killing goes, no I don't want to kill someone. Much of the training we seek out (beyond the minimal requirements) teaches some very lethal techniques. To the non-informed, this may appear brutal in nature. What needs to be realized is that these techniques are to stop the threat in the quickest manner possible. Because the the force we are using is lethal to begin with, death is a very real possibility regardless if our intent is not to kill outright.

The way I look at it is this: If I use my weapon to defend myelf, my family or others, and the BG dies, it is simply a byproduct of my actions to ensure my survival.

Don't forget it is also an occupational hazard the BG took on when he chose his/her lifestyle of being a BG. They also share a great deal of the responsibility in the equation.

Oh absolutely.....if I have to shoot in self defense, it already means the guy(s) on the other side of this has made a poor choice, maybe one he won't live to correct.

If you wish yo carry a gun, then you and only you must assume the risks involved in carring a gun. Beit killing a person or you yourself going to jail. Personally, I think there are alot of idots out there, both good guys and bad guys packin heat and I really don't think they are responsible enough to assume the risks involved with carring a deadly weapon, the news is filled with such idiocy.

If you can not accept those risks, then you do not deserve to carry.
